Plex Setup Guide (Legacy)

Note: DazFlix is moving to Jellyfin as the primary media player. Plex still works, but new users should use Jellyfin instead.

What is Plex?

Plex is a media server that's been powering DazFlix for over 15 years. If you already have a Plex account and have been invited to the DazFlix server, this guide is for you.

Getting Started

  1. Create a Plex account at plex.tv if you don't have one
  2. Accept the server invite - Darren will send you an invite to the DazFlix server through Plex
  3. Download the Plex app on your device:
    • Android: Google Play Store
    • iOS: App Store
    • Smart TV: Check your TV's app store
    • Fire TV: Amazon Appstore
    • Web: app.plex.tv
  4. Sign in to the app with your Plex account
  5. Select the DazFlix server from the sidebar - it should appear under "More" or "Other Libraries"
  6. Start watching! Browse the library and enjoy

Troubleshooting

  • Can't see the server? Make sure you've accepted the invite email from Plex
  • Buffering? Try lowering the quality setting in the app to avoid transcoding
  • No sound? Check the audio track - some content has multiple audio tracks
